Gamble St Corner was our first community green space, created in 2023 on a 30m x 5m plot of neglected land in Radford, Nottingham.

The garden is at the roadside, and is open 24/7 for members of the community to use.

Gamble St Corner is very close to Himmah Foodbank and was a joint project, so the link with food poverty and bringing the community together is strong.

Gamble St Corner is a space where we hold numerous events like Tomato Day and Harvest Festival aimed at celebrating food growing, as well as free food-centred events like Soul Soup Sessions and Tacos on the Corner.

Gamble St Corner is a guerrilla garden that cleaned up a derelict piece of City Council owned land, that had once been a garden area but had become a dumping ground for fly tipping, general rubbish and syringes from drug usage.

We cleaned up the land, built beds and paths and started to grow fruit, veg and flowers. We created an eye catching veg mural as a backdrop to ensure a welcoming and vibrant destination. Wildlife is encouraged into the space by a variety of pollinator friendly plants, and the installation of 3 bee houses.
