Nottz Garden Project is way more than just gardening.

Why?

Green spaces in urban areas are often neglected by local authorities,  built on, or sold for development and profit.

We are on a mission to reclaim these spaces with the community for the community, so spaces are for PEOPLE NOT PROFIT.

What?

We’re reclaiming green spaces with communities so that people of all class and culture can experience horticulture. We want to increase fresh food access and plant knowledge, and break down fences and barriers to gardening.

Generational green learning means bringing communities together to access and share skills.

We believe in experts by experience: EACH ONE TEACH ONE.

Who?

We grew up in and still have strong connections with areas of Notts where communities are overlooked and undervalued. Our childhood experiences in these areas and of gardening with our elders makes us determined to want better for our people today.

We’re motivated by challenging access to land, food, gardening and creativity, and  believe that stuff is not for a specific class, race, privilege or demographic: it should be for everybody.

Where?

We’re focusing on deprived wards and inner-city areas where we grew up in Notts, and where we have a specific connection. We also have gardens in locations where the organisations and charities that we share values with operate from.

Importantly, we believe in asking and having discussions with the local community… what do they want?
